One of the best experiences I've ever had with a service company! I recently contacted New Era Plumbing & Hvac after discovering that my kitchen sink drain was leaking water into my basement in dracut same town as new era. Anyone who's dealt with leaking pipes knows that sinking feeling you get when you realize water is getting into your home. It's stressful, especially when you don't know how serious the problem might be. After looking into it further, I discovered that the original cast iron drain pipes in my basement were also leaking. My house was built in 1945, so these were some seriously old pipes! New Era had a plumbing technician at my house within an hour of calling. He thoroughly assessed the situation and even pointed out a few other plumbing issues, including my aging water heater, which was something I'd already been thinking about replacing. What really impressed me was how they handled the estimate. The technician put everything together right on his iPad and walked me through several options. I could replace just the leaking section, replace all the old cast iron sewer and drain lines, add a new water heater, or tackle everything at once. There was absolutely no pressure. Just honest recommendations, transparent pricing, and different options to fit my budget. The technician was incredibly friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely seemed to care about helping me make the right decision. After reviewing the options, I decided to have everything done. The pricing was extremely fair considering the amount of work involved, and the value was simply too good to pass up. The project included: - Replacing the old cast iron sewer and drain pipes - Installing a brand-new water heater - Cutting and capping an old unused pipe - Repairing a separate leaking water line - Removing and disposing of all the old plumbing materials and debris Just 48 hours later, Steven L. and Mike showed up ready to get to work. Both guys arrived in uniform, smiling, friendly, and professional. Considering the mountain of plumbing work they had ahead of them, I couldn't believe how relaxed and confident they were. They made what seemed like a massive, stressful project feel like just another day at the office. That kind of confidence and professionalism puts a homeowner at ease. From the initial phone call and quick response time to the estimate, communication, pricing, and actual plumbing installation, the entire experience was outstanding. I've dealt with plenty of contractors and service companies over the years, and I can confidently say New Era Plumbing & Heating provided one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. You can tell this is a well-run company. Everyone I interacted with seemed genuinely happy to be there, took pride in their work, and treated me like a valued customer. Kudos to the owner for building such a great team and running such a professional operation. If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and professional plumbing company for drain pipe repairs, sewer line replacement, water heater installation, or general plumbing work, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend New Era Plumbing & Heating. Thank you to the entire team, especially Steven L. and Mike, for turning a stressful plumbing situation into such a positive experience. You guys absolutely earned this 5-star review!+1Posted on Google![]()

Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can New Era respond to an emergency heating repair in Dracut?
+
We provide 24/7 emergency heating repair services throughout Dracut and northern Middlesex County. Our technicians arrive with fully equipped vans stocked with igniters, pressure switches, circulator pumps, and blower motors to resolve no-heat emergencies on the first visit whenever possible.
What are the most common signs my Dracut heating system needs professional repair?
+
Common signs include lukewarm airflow, persistent banging or squealing noises, sudden increases in utility bills, short-cycling, yellow burner flames instead of blue, or hydronic radiators failing to heat up evenly. If you detect a sulfur odor or your carbon monoxide detector sounds, shut the unit off and call us immediately.
Should I repair my aging heating system or consider a full replacement?
+
If your heating system is under 12 to 15 years old and the repair cost is reasonable, a targeted component fix is usually the best approach. However, if your boiler or furnace is older, experiences frequent breakdowns, or has a cracked heat exchanger, upgrading to a high-efficiency heating system may save you significantly on energy bills and repair expenses over time.
Why is my furnace or boiler constantly short-cycling on and off?
+
Short-cycling is frequently caused by a severely restricted air filter, an overheating heat exchanger tripping the high-limit switch, a corroded flame sensor, or a malfunctioning thermostat. In hydronic systems, failing aquastats or bad zone valves can also trigger erratic cycling. Our technicians test all safety circuits to pinpoint and resolve the root cause.
How do I know if my hydronic baseboard heating system has trapped air?
+
If some rooms in your Dracut home are warm while baseboard pipes in other zones remain cold, or if you hear bubbling, gurgling, or knocking noises when the heat turns on, air is likely trapped inside the lines. We perform systematic air purging and radiator bleeding, inspect automatic air vents, and calibrate zone pressure to restore balanced hydronic flow.
Do you service heat pumps during freezing Massachusetts winter weather?
+
Yes. Cold-climate heat pumps are engineered to run during New England winters, but they can experience problems with reversing valves, defrost cycle sensors, or auxiliary electric heat strips. We diagnose iced-over outdoor units, verify refrigerant pressures, and repair auxiliary heating elements so your home stays warm regardless of outdoor temperatures.
What should I check before calling for heating repair service?
+
Before calling, check that your thermostat is set to "HEAT" and set a few degrees above the current room temperature, verify that the emergency power switch (often with a red cover plate) has not been flipped off, ensure your circuit breakers haven't tripped, and check if the air filter is blocked. If those checks check out and heat still won't engage, reach out to our team immediately.
